Hi there!
Since this is my first post, hello to everyone and thanks for all your hard work! I really appreciate it!
I'm rather new to Linux/Ubuntu and am currently trying to replace Unity's default launcher with GLX-Dock. So far that has worked very well. There a just two minor nuisances that are still bothering me:
My dock is on the left side of the screen an aligned to the top (s. screenshot below, "relative alignment" 0.000 under "behavior" options). Whenever I close an application or file so that the corresponding icon disappears from the dock, all icons are firstly moved towards the center of the dock and then snap back to the top. The same happens whenever I open an application and a new icon appears.
I would prefer it if only the icons below the closed one were moved upwards. Is there any possibility to achieve this? I already tried disabling "animated icons", "icon effects", "illusion" etc. but the behavior still persists.

Moreover I'm also affected by the "middle click is registered twice"-bug. Is there any progress on this one?
Same one as here:

Thanks in advance

Hi, and welcome. IIRC, I had the same report 6 years ago in my first post (illustrated by a switch between desktops with different taskbar size)
The only way to have a stable dock is to use the panel view, but you have to like its separator behavior.
I use a hacked version of the panel view that still require some work to become pushable for everybody. (and this won't be neither too soon, nor in the original dock, but in my reworked version)
Double click bug needs to be checked on a more general scale, this doesn't seem to be the only related problem. (just reworked those events, so I could search, but I have so many things to do . I'd prefer to work on the views) |

Thanks for the quick reply! I'm sorry, I didn't see your thread on my initial search. But that is indeed a rather weird coincidence ^^
Ah, I see. Then I will experiment with the panel view or two panels/docks.
No problem at all! As I said, those are only small nuisances. My main reason for switching was to disable window-grouping and having more customization options. Now I have both and therefore I'm happy
Thanks again and keep up the great work! |
