couldn't get the wallpaper

however it runs with no problem under su/admin privileges.(have not tested the system monitor app as I am worried it wil crash the su user cairo-dock.

Is there a way to reset the preferences in cairo-dock manually?

Guest, Friday 30 May 2014 à 02:18

also like to mention i ran these commands with no luck

cairo-dock -x "System Monitor" -w 2 -q 1
cairo-dock -x "System Monitor" -w 2 -q 2
cairo-dock -x "System Monitor" -q 3
cairo-dock -x "System Monitor" -q 4

I found a workaround by deleting
System-monitor;
out of cairo-dock.conf

The link below is how I went about it

I installed Debian 7.5 Wheezy on my laptop and had many issues because of the versions and the way they are packaged.

A solution is to add the repository on this page http://www.glx-dock.org/ww_page.php?p=From%20the%20repository&lang=en. About half way down is the Debian portion under the heading "Debian". There is also a section just below that that shows how to force apt to use this repository only "Force APT to use packages from our repository".

I personally did the first part (add the repository) but I didn't force apt to use only the repository. I get all the obsolete official Debian packages as well as the good packages when I use synaptic or aptitude to search but all I needed to do was run synaptic, select cairo-dock and let it decide what to install and I have had no issues since then.

I also had to clear out all Debian official repository stuff first by doing
sudo apt-get purge cairo-dock*
.

I confirm that using our repositories should fix this bug. If not, please try to get a backtrace of this crash by using GDB as explained there: ddd
