I've been trying to create a launcher on the dock for Minecraft.jar and I cannot get the client to launch once the icon is clicked on the dock. I've been googling issues and I cannot find any threads that relate to this problem.

Information in the screeny...

- I linked the Minecraft icon in "images name or path" so I didn't have a folder for the desktop icon.
- I linked the .jar file that's in my home/games directory in the "Command to launch".

Help would be greatly appreciated

maybe try to launch with java /path/to/jar

anyway, the dock will launch it if it was launched from the console, so you may first try to get it launched manually. It's easier to debug with the error messages

I tested this under my new system Debian Wheezy with cairo-dock 3.2.2 installed. What I did was create the new launcher with the command:

java -Xmx1024M -Xms512M -cp /home/brian/Downloads/minecraft.jar net.minecraft.LauncherFrame

I found this command line from the site: http://cwraig.id.au/?p=295

I also ran the command from the command line and used the extra parameter 'Class of program:' under the new launcher configuration and 'grabbed' the class of the application which turned out to be:

net-minecraft-launcher

To get an icon I went to http://www.rw-designer.com/icon-detail/5547 and downloaded the Minecraft.ico file and used that for the parameter 'Image's name or path:'.

Edit: Not cairo-dock 3.2.2 but 3.3.2
