Configuration
- cairo-dock 3.2.1 (cairo-dock -c)
- Mint 15 (Olivia) fresh install
- Cinnamon 1.8.8 (standard version in Mint 15 stock 64 bits distro)

When Cinnamon is using "Software rendering", the Zoom effect on the icons works ok (although the rendering is a little bit jagged, but that's to be expected).
When instead Cinnamon is using VBox 3D acceleration,
- the Icon hover zoom effect is broken
- and the auto hide callback needs a zone (rather than the "hit the screen border" condition)

I suspect this is due to the VBox driver. Any thoughts ?

if the behavior is different when only changing a parameter in VBox (anything else being unchanged), then I think it's probably a bug in VBox
it can have several causes (like your graphic card, 64bits, etc), I don't have any experience of virtualization
