Hi!
I'm having the problem that the PowerManager applet only shows 1 of my 2 batteries. Is there some way to fix this?
Both batteries show else where, e.g. in Power Statistics and when running
upower -i /org/freedesktop/UPower/devices/battery_BATn
for n=0,1.
Can this be fixed? Can I hack PowerManager applet to show both batteries?

currently the applet only takes the first one (I didn't even imagine you could have more than 1 battery )
the main question is : how are we going to use this ?
do the 2 batteries work togather like a single big battery ?
in which case we could just sum their charge and time. |

My machine allows me to remove the DVD-drive and insert an extra battery!
currently the applet only takes the first one
This is actually not quite right. Right now, it takes my BAT1, but previously, it showed my BAT0, my main battery. Here's a SS from now:
.
As you can see, then the PMapplet shown battery is the Sony one, which is BAT1.

The two batteries do indeed function as one.
Simply adding their times would definitely be an improvement, and also quite satisfactory, if not in fact the best way to go about it.
The battery applet in the regular panel under Ubuntu 12.04 shows the info of both batteries, separately.

(Message added on the task #304)
I guess it's not hard to do that thanks to Upower but it's just not easy to test it

Wonderful! I'm glad it can be done!
I should I check up somewhere so I will know when I should give you any feedback, if needed?
(With respect to the two batteries, then I have a x301 from lenovo, which has a bay to insert dvd-drive or secondary 3-cell battery. Very handy system since the dvd-drive is nice to have -- in a drawer, just in case.) |

Hello,
PowerManager should now support more than one battery. Can you check the development version (if possible, with 0, 1 and 2 batteries, when charging and discharging it during the same session)? You can install this version by using a script for debian/ubuntu to compile the dock and its plug-ins (=> From BZR) or by adding our "ppa weekly" and by waiting for the next update (I'll upload the latest modifications asap) |

The next update on our "ppa weekly" will not be available soon (~15 hours). Feel free to compile the dock by simply launching a script: here |
