Hi,
i have Xubuntu 12.04 64bit and glx-dock 3.0.0.0beta1 installed. Under Gnome i have sound applet active, and with mouse wheel i can increase/decrease sound volume. But not in xubuntu. Is it possible to activate this option?
Thanks

Hi, the sound applet directly use alsa to change volume, so it shouldn't depend on the environment.
There is a collapsed frame named Alsa in the bottom of the configuration page of the applet that you could check.
Is it on the same PC and OS, and using the same home folder ? Maybe you can try to just reapply the applet settings on the xubuntu session

Hi, the same computer-but i had before Ubuntu 11.04. Now i installed the Xubuntu 12.04. I just copied config file from ubuntu. But i also tested with new default config-file, but nothing. The middle-click wheel does deactivate sound, as it should be, but scrolling does nothing.
In alsa i have nothing-only master option...

let's do some more tests :
left click on the icon, and try so set volume with the slider (to confirm that the applet has no sound control, and it's not some other odd problem)
Do you have more than one sound card on your computer ? Beware, some video cards with HDMI output (with sound) are considered as sound card. I don't know how is the xfce sound config, but I hope you could check there.
(any asoundrc file ?)

Hi,
slider works just fine-i can increase with it the volume. I have Thinkpad X200, so no extra Video cards, no HDMI...
Where do i find xfce sound file? No soundrc files as i know. I have pretty much basic Xubuntu 12.04 64bit installation.
Thanks

as you can control the sound with the slider the applet has the good settings and you don't have to worry about your system settings

maybe a bug with the mousewheel input ?

Hello,

Which version of GTK3 are you using? I've made a few changes about the scroll events for GTK 3.3.
Is it possible to test the rc1 version of the dock simply by adding our "weekly ppa"?

Hi, no idea-i use default GTK under Xubuntu. But after updating to weekly ppa (3.0.0.0. rc1) everything works as it should - i.e. mouse wheel sound volume adjusting is working!

Thanks!

Well done matttbe, I forgot about your patch and the link with 12.04.
This was related to a behaviour change in GTK, found and fixed this week.
