Idea:
On the task bar, as the mouse is moved over the task bar icons, the corresponding window is brought to the front of the desktop. |

I don't think I like this idea, because you would have to let a long delay before popping the window (or you would get a lot of annoyance)
but here is a nice trick: scrolling up/down on an icon brings on the front the next/previous window of the application 
I use it a lot instead of clicking |
