hello,

I have a problem with the glx-dock 2.3.0-1 under xubuntu 11.04:
the glx-dock crashes when I open the sys-tray.
the dock then starts again, and then I can open the sys-tray.
when I will open after some time the sys-tray again, is the same game to go again ...

Thank you for this bug report!

Is it possible to compile the dock in order to have a backtrace of the crash. It's not complicated and explained here => ddd

I met the same problem.
my system is ubuntu 10.04.
the problem appeared after
I updated glx-dock to 2.3.0~1.
It works well for the old glx-dock version.

and I found that there is a new sys-tray.
but when I remove the sys-tray-old and use
the new sys-tray, it didn't show the icons
of the running program.

It's simply because your applications doesn't use the new specification of the Systray 2. I guess it's because you're using Ubuntu 10.04 because a lot of applications now use this new systray.

But do you have the crash too? Is it possible to have the backtrace?

try removing the old, then restart the dock and activate the new. maybe the applications don't see there is a new systray.
also, as Matttbe said, many applications have switched to systray2.0 recently.

about the crash, do you have the old systray in the dock (in a dialog) ? if so, did you try to detach it from the dock, and place it in a corner of your desktop above the other windows ?
