Salut,
I noticed with the current screen luminosity that the readout is now in regular numbers instead of decimals,, luminosity is generally set in decimals...example..
videos at 1.2 to 1.6 .
With regular numbers default being "44" there is no way to determine proper luminosity.
The default should be 1.00

Salut,
I thought that the new version of ScreenLuminosity could manage the brightness and so the number should be correct but no I don't know why that has changed. |

Salut guys,
i want to stress the importance of gamma on linux and how it is passed to the xserver.
The gamma values are passed to the Xserver with 3 decimal places of accuracy.
so 0.00 ... 1.20 1.02 etc etc
with the current display in screen luminosity plugin using "whole" numbers...accuracy cannot be acheived.

Salut fabounet,
Well my concerns were not about my experience with the dock.. i was concerned about users who would use the screen luminosity applet for video and image editing.
Percentages will not work for accuracy only decimals.
For me.. I can simply make a few launchers with xgamma -gamma 1.5 as the command for one ,,, that part is easy,, as it would be for users.
I realize you made the change because of your laptop... and of course you can do that
I believe I left a message for you on irc about simply having a tick box for percentages or decimal read out.
Not sure that is to your liking..but it is an alternative for users who would use the applet for accuracy.
Either way ,, I have no issue at all... commands or launchers with the right command work fine for me

yep, I got it, but as I said, you can still middle-click on the icon to get the gamma correction |
