Yes, it works well with the 2.3 version (I don't know for the 2.2 version, actually). What is the CDApplet.py file ?

Please, enjoy: http://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=48213

Maybe a stupid question but how do I install this? Just by doing:
yaourt -S cairo-dock-plugins-bzr ?

Well, I reinstalled cd and plugins with
yaourt -S cairo-dock-bzr
yaourt -S cairo-dock-plugins-bzr

I added the applet to the dock and... nothing.

No you have to install these applet by installing this package: cairo-dock-plug-ins-extras-bzr
Now you can remove this directory ~/.config/cairo-dock/third-party/

@Tofe: I think you've to add a file like last-modif in the directory of each applet. @fabounet can you confirm?

Well, I installed cairo-dock-plug-ins-extras-bzr (forgot to mention that) but it did not change a thing.
Is it necessary to remove directory ~/.config/cairo-dock/third-party/ for this to work?

The truth is I have installed Arch about 3 months ago but still am using Windows only because I do not have proper menu system in Linux.

If this file is needed for the applet to work, why isn't it included in bzr ? Moreover, I never created this file on my computer, and the third-party applets do work...

@lockheed: my AUR package makes the assumption that cairo-dock is installed in /usr. This is the case when installing the cairo-dock AUR package, but not necessarily when using the -bzr one (because it depends what compilation options you give him). If you installed it in another directory, like /usr/local, you will have to deinstall cairo-dock-plug-ins-extra-bzr and reinstall it with a modified PKGBUILD. Look at the end of the PKGBUILD, find a /usr, and replace it with /usr/local.

However, I should modify my PKGBUILD in order to magically guess what is the right directory.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the only way of installing CD 2.3 to use BZR packages? Cause if I do
"yaourt -S cairo-dock" it only installs 2.2

yaourt -Syu --devel --aur

I did not give any compilation options when installing either CD bzr or your extra plugins. I just press Yes to every question.

@lockheed: yes, it's my fault, I should have found an automatic way to guess where cairo-dock is installed. However, your Yaourt doesn't seem very up-to-date, as there is today a cairo-dock 2.3 package version...

The Archlinuxfr repo (where one usually gets yaourt from) still has 2.2 and yaourt installs from the repos in preference to the AUR.

Ok, I installed 2.3 non-bzr, then plugins and plugins-extra-bzr and applet still doesn't work.
However, now even my sub-docks don't work and became separate docks which screwed up everything.

Strange... did you remove the third-party folder from your home directory?
Can you just launch cairo-dock from a terminal and enable an extra applet like Quote?

Yes, I removed the third-party folder. in .config/cairo-dock
I do not know what you mean 'run like Quote'. Running cairo-dock -o in terminal doesn't change anything. Clicking on applet still has no effect - I tried cardapio and Gnomenu.

Can you just try to launch Cairo-Dock from a terminal, try to enable our 'Quote' applet and then can you post the output messages here?

What is a "Quote" applet?

It's an applet => http://www.glx-dock.org/mc_album.php?a=6
    Quote_0.0.7 (Eduardo Mucelli)
This applet provides a "Quote of the day" feature from some internet sources \nsuch as Quotationspage.com, Bash.org, Xkcdb.com, Qdb.us, Danstonchat.com, Jokes2go.com, and Vidademerda.com.

nope, it's an internal file created by the dock, to know when a new version is available

Yes but all applets modified by Tofe and installed in /usr/share/cairo-dock/plug-ins/Dbus/third-party/ doesn't have to be updated or modify by the dock.
