do you use auto-hide ? what if you set the dock to be always visible ?
also, what if you launch it "with cairo-dock -f" (no plug-ins loaded) ?

why after last update-not before

because we use more opengl now, so buggy drivers will cause more harm.
don't you have some invisible icons (for instance with the dustbin applet, or any other applet ?)
the only way to solve it (if it's not a dock's problem) is to report it to the drivers devs.

Hi, cairo-dock -f same again. Only if i activate open gl it works fine, but there is one 1px line over the dock to be seen when i move mice pointer over the dock. No, i have no invisible icons...
Regards

ok so to sum up:
cairo-dock -c => invisible icons on mouse over
cairo-dock -cf => idem (no applets at all but still same problem)
cairo-dock -o => not this problem, but some graphic artifacts (most probably due to the drivers)
all of this in 64 bits.

could you try to see in the config panel (advance mode) in "Labels", "label readability" (you have to expand this group), and try to change some parameters here ? Thanks.

Edit : SQP can you please try in cairo mode ?

nothing more to say, works perfect. I guess I never had issue I could have blame 64 bits version for
(except the gauge effects I didn't implemented for cairo yet)

Hi,
i wasn´t here for the long time, but just to say that the problem persists.
I have now new thinkpad - x200t. I installed from repository: 2.1.3-10-lucid-0ubuntu2, http://repository.glx-dock.org/ubuntu
and cairo-dock works fine. But i tried to install the newest version (2.2.0) from your repos, and the result is the same as before with my R400. I am still using 64bit Ubuntu 10.04...

So, i removed the newest version and installed the older one...

Any idea?

I'll try to think on a workaround for this.
until then, the cairo backend should work fine

(Message added on the task #93)

still not sure what this bug is.
anyway, I've added the possibility to not have any effect on auto-hiding, which will prevent from using framebuffer on the dock (some applets might use it on their icon though). This seems to be a source of trouble with some drivers.
I'll mark this bug as fixed then.
For any problem with the cairo backend, thanks to open a new topic (a small video and the theme used would help).

yep it's not yet on the weekly
could you please do the following test?
edit the cairo-dock.conf file, search for "hide effect" and set "hide effect = None", then restart the dock (using opengl). is it better then ?

Hi,
sorry for late answer-i tried that, it braked my dock completely.

So, not happy update. I installed on my Macbook Pro 7.1 ubuntu maverick 64 bit, and also the repo cairo (2.2.0-4). And still the same error as in the first post. So, after all-the only version that works on my computers (thinkpad x200t ubuntu 10.04 64 bit) is 2.1.3-10-lucid. And i am making no update there. So, my question is (because i can not be of any use here): where could i download 2.1.3-10-lucid and manually install it on my macbooks maverick?

Thanks

in the current 2.3-rc2, there is a choice for no animation for dock hiding.
I've tested it and it worked nicely. could you please post a video of the problem in your case ?

This is so strange!
It's maybe due to your theme? Can you try the default theme by launching the dock with this command:
cairo-dock -t ~/test

Well, that was it. I always copied my default theme with my launchers. So i tried just to make fresh install now and everything works as it should.
Thank you all-we can mark then this thread as solved...
