The gnome-panel calendar is integrated with the evolution appointments.
It would be great if glx-cairo clock applet calendar show the evolution appointments too, and maybe a emblem to the left or right of the clock that would represent appointments.

tasks are integrated in the calendar of the 2.2, and it's possible to use an "ical" file.
I'm not sure how it can be used yet, but I think we can link to many calendars with it.
Tofe, what do you think about Evolution ? |

For sure we can show the ics file used internaly by Evolution. However it would be read-only, I think. I'm currently having a look to see how we could easy manage a two-way synchronization. GCalDaemon could be a way to do it, but it would mean starting a java VM, and it seems a bit heavy for just sync'ing two ics files... |

Hasn't Evolution a Dbus interface with some signals ?
if we can write but not get the changes, we can still make a loop to check like every minute. |

i would greatly appreciate this feature as well!!!! any update on how it's coming along?
i think a read-only calendar would be a first good step, but obviously, support for writing would be fabulous
if it is too difficult to make the internal evolution-calendar writeable, you could create you own .ics file and write in that, and you could just have the user configure evolution to link to that file, via its remote calendar feature. this is how i use the very neat desktop calendar "Rainlendar" in order to integrate it with evolution. |

I didn't know it was possible, thanks for the tip
by the way the applet already supports the .ical format, maybe it's enough to do some tests ? |

There is no way to use the .ical there is a drop down menu with .ical but there is no place to put the link to the file |
