The show Desktop applet need a double click to work.
1)I flag the "Keep the desklets visible when showing the desktop".It Needs double click to show desktop.
2)I keep off the flag, first time needs double click, desktop is shown but desklets are not (how I expected), second time (without desklets) needs double click. From third time, it needs just one click.
3)If I middle-click twice, desklets are shown again (I expected with just one middle click), now if I want Show Desktop again, it needs double click and the behaviour is the same of point 2. |

yes I've noticed that with Metacity, showing a desklet breaks the "showdesktop" state.
but it always work the first time (it always show the desktop), but never the second (it never shows back the windows)
what's your WM ? you seem to have a different behaviour. |

Correct, I use a "pure" session of openbox. |

ok, I hate window managers (except Compiz) 
do you have any cairo-desklet on your desktop, or some dialog opened ?
if so, could you please do the tests without ? |

The desklet talked about above, is the Shutdown desklet of cairo-dock. When desklet is not shown, Show Desktop works fine.

I've just seen that 2.1.2 has been released, I'm updating, wait some minutes. |

and by the way, Compiz is the best WM because it respects the freedesktop and X specs, so you rarely have bad surprise with it.
I can't say how many times I was ennoyed by Metacity or Kwin  |
