Hello,

I'd like to save as much as i can of my cairo-dock settings so as to avoid the hassle of recreating everything after re-installing/upgrading. Is there a file with all my current settings-information which i could save and paste again after re-installation/upgrade?

Thanks
B.

Hello

You can save your theme with the theme manager (or create a tarball but you have to launch C from the terminal)
But all config files are available on
~/.config/cairo-dock

So basically if i save my home-folder and paste its content in my post-installation-home-folder (after having re-installed Cairo) i would then get my Cairo-dock back as it is now?
Yes

How about saving the current theme as? Is there any difference with the above?
With the theme manager you can easily export your one in order to share it with who you want.

Does that mean the "build a package of the theme?" checkbox in the save-tab of the theme-management of the dock does not work by now, or what is it supposed to do if checked?

thx

Hi,

You should have a package (tarball) of the theme in your home directory (with the latest stable version (2.1.3) from our repository or sources tarballs )
