I have 2 problems with cairo-dock, one is a serious problem but I worked around it already. Another problem is not a important problem, but it's annoying, so I would like it to be fixed.
Problem 1
I am using compiz with cairo-dock and I have set up horizontal virtual size = 4, and I have multiple instances of a specific application ( browser for example ) opened at different virtual desktop. By using "switcher", I can switch to the various "workspace/virtual desktop" or whatever you call it. However, when I bring up the sub-docks by clicking the icon, and click on that instance of the icon, only certain certain sub-dock type allows me to switch to the virtual desktop ( with the opened application ). 3-D plane, curve and default will not work. Caroussel, Parabolic, Rainbow, Slide will work.
When it does not work, it will just rotate to the virtual desktop and then rotate back.
When it is working, it will just rotate to the virtual desktop and stay there with the instance of application opened.
Right now I work around the problem, ie I just don't use those subdock types.
Problem 2
=========
Cairo-Penguin is not working properly when I put my cairo-dock virtically. If I let Penguin wonder everywhere in the dock, it does not do it properly. It only works properly if I have the dock horizonal.

1/ as a better workaround, you can scroll on the icon instead of clicking on it.
I don't know why the WM makes such crazy thing.
2/ has been fixed in the 2.1.0 |

Scrolling on the icon did not work either, it's the same, it just rotates to the virtual desktop and then rotate back. |

@ mctiew : what's your version of Cairo-Dock (cairo-dock -v), your desktop environment (Gnome, Kde, XFCE, etc.) and your WM (Compiz, Metacity, etc.) ?
Do you have this bug if you put switcher on a desklet mode ? |

only with a sub-dock (I have it too, but can't find the cause )
scrolling works for me, it seems it depends on if you leave the dock too quickly or not. |

I've had EXACTELY the same problem this morning !!! -> I opened a Synaptic window (which apeared in the taskbar, and I was working on another workspace ... and I wanted to go to the synaptic window , so I clicked on its icon in the taskbar -> The compiz cube rotated to its workspace BUT rotated back to the current one immedialtly ! But I'm not able to do the bug again
I think we really have a bug with that ! |

seems that setting a large value for the delay between leaving a sub-dock can solve it ('System' module). |

Yes, only with the sub-dock. If I left click on the icon in the mainbar, then right click the icon in the subdock to select 'Show', it will work. But that's a terrible way to accomplish the task.
I like to believe this is a lot to do with compiz itself, but nevertheless, when using 'Slide' sub-dock, it works consistently so I am happily using it. |

I set the delay value to 2000, it then seems to work, Default is 250. |

without the workaround of increasing the "leave from sub-dock delay" ?
this would be nice because I must admit, I still don't understand this bug |
