I have tried the dock for a while now on my Ubuntu 9.04 and Cairo dock in the repository (2.0.6?). I am very impressed by the appearance but I have one problem with the weather applet. At first everything worked great and I could change the place for the weather forecast and see the forcast whenever I wanted. But since a few days everything is impossible to use. If I click on the weather applet in the dock everything freeze. After a a reinstall of the cairo-dock I now get no info from the applet. It just dissolved into flames and then go back to the dock with no information. And after that the icon is gone and the text N/A is there instead of the icon. If I go in and try to manage the dock and choose weather I can choose another icon but in the dock result is a N/A icon and no weather is functioning. I hope someone have found the answer since it worked perfectly a few days ago. |

Could you provide a simple instruction, as to how to update my current v.2.0.5 to fix this problem? Only been using Linux for a month or so
Many thanks

Is it possible to edit file (files?) manually to correct that? Since it's only a few letters?
Updated plug-in package sounds good when? |

With the 2.0.7 release, I think that you can just replace the file /usr/lib/cairo-dock/libcd-weather.so by this one but it's just available for 64bits users (I'm on Ubuntu Karmic 64bits with gcc4.4)...
You can test it with a backup of this file if you are on a 64bits architecture
But it's maybe better to wait for an answer by fabounet if he prefers make a patch or a new package and/or if you can replace this file |

I'll try - patience is not one of my virtues Is it definitely not going to work with 32bit ubuntu janty and cairo 2.0.5? I can always upgrade to 2.0.7 I guess ...
BTW, is it just straightforward install of 2.0.7 on top of 2.0.5 or do I need to remove the existing one first? |

If you are on Ubuntu, install Cairo-Dock From the repository
- Open a terminal. Add the key :
wget -q http://repository.glx-dock.org/cairo-dock.gpg -O- | sudo apt-key add -
- Edit your sources.list :
sudo gedit /etc/apt/sources.list and add the following line at the end deb http://repository.glx-dock.org/ubuntu jaunty cairo-dock
- Update the list and upgrade your system
: sudo apt-get update
sudo apt-get dist-upgrade
You should have the last release ! (but without the correction of weather but wait and if there is a new version, your system will be updated )
... and restart the dock |

OK , I tried to replace my /usr/lib/cairo-dock/libcd-weather.so with the suggested one but nothing got better. Yes I have a 64 bit ubuntu so it should work. The only thing happened was that it was removed in the accesories menu. Should I do something besides a reboot? |

How can i get an update with openSuse 11.1? We don't maintain OpenSUSE packages... So wait or use the sources from SVN

But a new DEB plug-ins package coming soon |

mattbe, i tried your altered libcd-weather.so file (with root:root and executable permissions) on my Ubuntu 9.04 AMD64 with CD 2.0.7 ... but no dice
the weather applet has disappeared and is no longer available in the accessories list.
anything i missed? |

Maybe it's easier to wait the 64bits packages by Mav.
If he can't do it, I will try |
