Bueno les comento q yo soy un colombiano q le encanto el cairo-dock y lo q quiero es traducirlo al español para colaborar y q mas gente lo use.
Ok guys, i'm a colombian guy and i want to translate to spanish, i have some hours to do that so just only help me how, and i will be translate.Nouveau sujet |

Hola!
I can't speak spanish but if you translate the Wiki as well....I might end up learning some..
Once you have downloaded the SVN I believe you have to translate the file that end up in .po |

Yes, if the translation has already been started for your language, there will be a .po file. However, if it has not, you need to first create a new .po. I see a generate-translation.sh in the source tree at cairo-dock/po. I don't know how to use it, though; perhaps someone else here can help with that.
I guess then you would translate the strings found inside your generated es.po file, and send the to the devs (or put it on a SVN repo?)...

Now i'm think i can translate de new es.po file, so i have some questions, frist i have to know, how can i probe my new translations, i probe doing:
autoreconf -isvf && ./configure && make
make install
but i have the same strings when i see my dock,
well guys, i so happy to participate and now i will trasnlate as soon as posible. |

Hi again,
Are you using a Spanish locale for your entire system? Which locale is it? For example, es_ES is for Spanish (Spain), and es_CO is for Spanish (Columbia).
If you have already set up your locales (by specifying the proper locales in /etc/locale.gen and then doing locale-gen as root), and you are using Spanish for everything else already, I'd guess the problem is in your .po file not working.
Otherwise, try something like this (substitute the correct locale code as appropriate):
LANG=ES_CO.UTF-8 cairo-dock &
(Substituting other values for ES_CO.UTF-8 would let you try out various other locales, too -- although, Cairo-Dock currently seems only to have French and Japanese.) |

Ok i follow the steps that are in the italian translation forum, and i got my new dock in spanish, i think that i have a preview in a few days, so wait a little, or a pettite, jeje.

Well i have transalted a lot of strings but how i probe that after i have a file cairo-dock.mo how can i do that. reload string i probe deleting file cairo-dock.mo and it doesn't work. |

don't take it bad as I am not criticizing but I noticed something funny... I have a colleague at work who is also Colombian and like you he often starts his sentences with "Well"
I thought it was just him but it must be a Colombian thing

did you add "es" to the LINGUAS file ?
normally when you do a "make install", it should install a cairo-dock.mo in /usr/share/locale/es/LC_MESSAGES I think. |

How can i upload my es.po file to the snv version, for the people who wants to see in spanish cairo-dock.
