I am long time fan of Cairo-Dock, first time poster to the forum. I am currently running CairoDock 3.3.2 on Xubuntu 13.10. I have a question about how to achieve multiple Firefox icons in the same dock. The idea is I have a Firefox profile for Personal and one for Work. I realize I could combine the two, but I like to keep them separate. The problem is I can launch them both from CLI or icons I created on the desktop, but it doesn't use a separate icon when I launch them both. It appears as if it's a second window (same icon) when I don't want it to do that.
I launch my personal profile using:
firefox -no-remote -P Personal
I launch my work profile using:
firefox %u
Any idea on how I can keep the two separate in the dock? |

You're a genius! Recap: Two profiles/launchers for Firefox requested.
---
Commands to launch separate Firefox instances:
firefox -no-remote -P Personal
Launch my work profile using (default):
firefox %u
--
Configuration:
1. I used the default Firefox icon/launcher for my work profile.
2. Create a new launcher in the dock for my "Personal" profile.
Lancher's name: Firefox
Image's name or path: I used a different firefox icon from google (a blue one) so I can keep the two icons/separate
Command to launch on click: firefox -no-remote -P Personal --class ff
NOTE: I am using a class "ff"
Select Extra parameters:
Class of program: ff
Done. Now I have two separate Firefox launchers/icons for my (Work/Personal) profiles in my dock.
Fantastic! Please consider this resolved. |
