Hello.

After updating 13.04 -> 13.10 global menu has stopped working. All application except firefox (this one works fine) has his own menu toolbar as it always was in other DE, not unity. Can it be fixed?

Cairo-dock from weekly ppa. Thanks.

Hello and thank you for this bug report! (and sorry for the delay)

Yes, this applet should be updated...
But, did you see the new feature on Ubuntu 14.04: http://www.webupd8.org/2014/02/ubuntu-1404-gets-locally-integrated.html
Do you think it's a good idea to have this new feature when using Cairo-Dock with Compiz?

@fabounet: what do you think about that? Should we contact Unity/Compiz devs to see if it's possible to have this new feature without Unity?

Oh, this feature is great. I think it's much better then global menu Unity has today. It will be pretty hard to make such menu without Unity, does it? They say Ubuntu 14.04 has new window decorator. Anyway, I'm not developer at all, so fully relying on your decisions which way this menu applet should be As user I just want to say, that possibility use cairo-dock as Unity replacer is big feature and advantage, hope it will be developing in future.

It seems they are no longer using gtk-window-decorator but I don't see any other '*-window-decorator' binary...
I guess they still need to intercept the menu and now they draw the decoration and the menu inside it. It also means that a daemon is still needed (and patches in GTK too) and I don't know if they can easily produce a unity/compiz-window-decorator binary that can be used without Unity
