This happens only on firefox launcher. Right click on it and boom nothing works. I loose everything i can just move the mouse. This was already happening with the old version but the new update on the weekly does not solve the update.
It might be related to unityfox that i have installed and removed. I did not find a way to record the fault. I am the only one having this problem? |

ok, so the problem is Zeitgeist
if only the dock freezes, then the problem is within the dock, but if all your desktop freeze (even the mouse ?) then it's probably something else |

Maybe because the hard disk is too solicited?
(maybe it's possible to optimise the search) |

I am not able to use my keyboard anymore i can move the mouse but that is it. No clicks or anything.
I have no events in the tab web in the recent-events plugin. |

I have no events in the tab web in the recent-events plugin. No but Firefox is able to open many files, it's possible that the dock tries to consult a very long list of files... |

Correct Mattbe after leaving the dock for 2 min running the recent events bar appeared and everything is ok. |

@fabounet: do you think that it's easily possible to optimise the search? |

I'm not sure (we search the files related to Firefox), maybe we could limit in time (less than 1 month ? but it can still be large) but for me the problem is in Zeitgeist
whatever the search you do, it shouldn't freeze the entire desktop
from the dock's point of view, the search is asynchronous (using zeitgeist_log_find_events) and the dock shouldn't freeze either.
I think this bug should be reported to the zeitgeist guys |

@taiebot65: do you use Zeitgeist 2.0 (are you using Ubuntu >= 13.10?) |

Mmh, it seems that the search with Zeitgeist 2.0 is very slow. When porting Recent Events to Zeitgeist 2.0, I tried to use the "same" functions but it's maybe possible to have a faster search. |
