Hi,
I have cairo-dock 3.3.1 on Linux Mint 14 32-bit with Cinnamon. Today after I upgraded to 3.3.1 I noticed that my bookmarks are no longer displayed on the Shortcuts addon.
Is this a known issue or change?
Thanks! |

yep, it's a known issue that Cinnamon didn't update to the new bookmarks file location
it changed in GTK>=3.6 (from ~/.gtk-bookmarks to ~/.config/gtk-3.0/bookmarks)
as a way to fix it, we could check if ~/.config/gtk-3.0/bookmarks exists
can you please confirm that you don't have such a file ? (for instance, run ls -l ~/.config/gtk-3.0/bookmarks in a terminal)
thanks
Edit: I just realized that the dock creates it if it doesn't exist ... so is yours empty and when was it created ? |

Thanks for your reply! Yes I do have that file and it's not empty. However, it only contains the system default bookmarks, and not the rest of the bookmarks I have manually added to Nemo.
username@username-laptop ~ $ ls -lap ~/.config/gtk-3.0/bookmarks
-rw-r--r-- 1 username username 152 Dec 21 2012 /home/username/.config/gtk-3.0/bookmarks
username@username-laptop ~ $ cat ~/.config/gtk-3.0/bookmarks
file:///home/username/Documents
file:///home/username/Music
file:///home/username/Pictures
file:///home/username/Videos
file:///home/username/Downloads |

arf, that's very annoying
because then we can't guess which one to use, so the dock will use the new one if GTK > 3.4 (which I believe is the case for you ?)
did you ever run Nautilus (even only 1 time) ? is Dec 21 2012 the day you installed the system or something like that ?
I wonder who created this file
the solution of course is to simply make a link ~/.config/gtk-3.0/bookmarks -> ~/.gtk-bookmarks, but that's not very user-friendly
another solution is to upgrade Nemo, and another would be to allow choosing the file in the applet's config (not very user-friendly either) |

Yes I have Nautilus and have ran it a few times. I think that's that day I installed the OS yes.

Why was it working fine before the upgrade? |

I just created a symbolic link to ~/.gtk-bookmarks from now and that's working fine. |

How do I check?
I think you can use apt-cache policy gtk+-3.0 (if gtk+-3.0 is the correct name of the package)

ok, thanks for the info
if the file was created by Nautilus, then maybe this problem will not occur too often, if it was created by Mint, then we'll have to add a line in the wiki |
