Hi,

I have installed Ubuntu 12.04 and also Cairo-Dock from the repository as described in the installation instructions.
When I try to remove an icon on the dock, the dock gets stuck and I have to kill it.

I tried using with OpenGL and without but still the same.
The only thing I have installed relating to the video card is Bumblebee since I have Nvidia Optimus, but I had the same on Ubuntu 11.10 and it worked.

I am very new to Linux but can find my way around, so if more information is required I would appreciate a bit of instructions on how to get it.

In addition, would really like to complement the creator of Cairo-Dock, on 11.10 it worked flawlessly and was really impressive. Kudos!

Thanks,
Oren.

Hello and thank you for this bug report

When I try to remove an icon on the dock, the dock gets stuck and I have to kill it.
How do you remove an icon? By dragging and dropping it outside the dock or by doing a right click / Launcher / Remove? Maybe you don't see the dialog to confirm the action. Is it better if press the 'Return' key?

Can you launch this command from a terminal and post the output here?
apt-cache policy cairo-dock

Hi,

Thanks for the help!

Indeed it was the confirmation box, I don't see it at all. However, after hitting the return key it deletes the icon and everything works ok.

In case this helps for the missing confirmation box:
cairo-dock:
Installed: 3.0.0.1-1ubuntu0~precise
Candidate: 3.0.0.1-1ubuntu0~precise
Version table:
*** 3.0.0.1-1ubuntu0~precise 0

100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
3.0.0.1-0ubuntu1 0
500 http://il.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ precise/universe i386 Packages

Thanks!
Oren.

@fabounet: I confirm this bug with Metacity but... I also have some other problem with it: maximised windows goes to fullscreen mode, sometime my bottom/top dock disappears but I also had the problem with Firefox or geany! If I click on NetSpeed icon, I don't have a dialog the first time but I've it the second time, etc.

after investigation, the problem is that Metacity doesn't handle correctly the _NET_WM_OPACITY
I'm going to add a starting option, since the workaround must be applied before the windows are created
