I'm using cairo-dock from bzr on debian unstable with opengl on, compiz and xfce.
I can't add dirs to the shortcut applet, when i move my dir from thunar to the applet icon i can see animated red arrows but nothing happens.
Am I doing anything wrong?

it uses the bookmarks defined in your file manager.
So you may try to add them in thunar (I hope it work like nautilus : drag and drop of folder to the left bar).

SQP,

Yes thunar does add shortcuts by dragging to the left panel. Also, I tested in xubuntu 11.04 cairo-dock 3.0.0 and dragging the folder to the side pane in thunar results in it showing under the shortcuts in cairo-dock for me.

Also, cairo-dock 3.0.0: removing the bookmark (right click and remove) in the shortcuts applet also removes it from thunar's bookmarks. Adding a shortcut by dragging it to the shortcut applet worked but it had an odd name in thunar's side pane and I had to rename the shrotcut (it pointed to the correct directory just had an odd name for the bookmark itself but showed as the correct name in the shortcuts applet, very odd).

Thanks for answers, i solved adding bookmarks directly in thunar.

ok, although I'm quite sure that the dock should support the drop of a folder on the Shortcuts applet to create a bookmark (on the main icon, or at least on the sub-dock) maybe there is a little bug here

I know I had the problem of boomarks not adding when dropped on the icon when I first started using cairo-dock in xubuntu 10.04 and never used it much after that (the shortcuts applet that is) but when I tested the other day it worked except for that one odd behaviour.

When I drop a folder on the shortcuts it gets added to both the shortcuts plugin and thunar but thunar shows an odd name. I tried it again yesterday and same thing, the bookmark was added, cairo-dock showed the correct name and opened the correct folder but thunar showed random characters for the name but opened the correct folder. All I had to do was right click in thunar and rename the bookmark and everything was fine. (I just tried a number of times and sometimes the name is fine but most times there are random names and/or characters showing in thunar)

xubuntu 11.04
cairo-dock 3.0
opengl
regular xfdesktop
