Ok lets recapitulate the three bugs while using xcompmgr
1...Dialog boxes appear outside the screen.
2...Due to the size of the compositing window some labels seems cut.
3...When an icon disappear the dock jump
It 's difficult to show an example. You could try it at home and see what i am talking about. Xcompmgr is only one package to download.
I honestly think that bug 2 and 3 could be fix at the same time if the window compositing was taking the entire width of the screen and about 2/3 of the screen height because the new panel view does not have this problem.
I remember seeing this bug with metacity and i think it appears with compiz but you need an expert eye to notice the change |

about emerald, did you try to compil it ? it works with Compiz 0.9.6 and it's very easy. |

And as we can see on this screencast, the position of the dock is not fixed when we move the mouse inside the dock:
At the beginning, there is a jump because the window is resized and then, the dock is not fixed when the mouse is on the middle of the dock |

Yesterday I tested the dock with a second screen and the default view and... Everything works fine
No jump, no problem with the callback zone, etc. (I forgot to check if we can place the dock in both screens but I'm going to do that tonight!)
a constant size for the 3D view too? |

I forgot to mention: The problem here obviously is the alignment focussing on the left border of the dock instead of the center. |

Any chance to get rid of that problem? Does it occur to rarely to be considered? |
