hello
I am using debian squeeze (just install for few days ago).
My desktop environment is KDE.
I install cairo-dock and cairo-dock-plugins as describe in wiki.with
aptitude install cairo-dock cairo-dock-plugins

I have 2 issues :
first i install to many dependency like brassero or nautilus that i don't want.
Second when all is installed, i can not login into kde. KDE login crash and i got again the login screen.

Questions :
How can i install cairo-dock without the dependency i don't want ?
Do you have a idea why KDE crash ?

Thanks in advanced for your help.

Hello,

first i install to many dependency like brassero or nautilus that i don't want.
Which packages do you use? from the official repositories?
apt-cache policy cairo-dock
Cairo-Dock Debian maintainers doesn't want to use our packages (uploaded in Ubuntu) maybe because they think they are better (not here...)
I've to update our repository but I need a few time for that

Second when all is installed, i can not login into kde. KDE login crash and i got again the login screen.
Which version of the dock do you have? Can you try without the OpenGL backend?

Hello,
Thanks for the answer.
here the output from
apt-cache policy cairo-dock
cairo-dock:
Installé : (aucun)
Candidat : 2.1.3.10-4
Table de version :
2.1.3.10-4 0
500 http://ftp.de.debian.org/debian/ squeeze/main amd64 Packages
500 http://ftp.fr.debian.org/debian/ squeeze/main amd64 Packages

I must remove cairo-dock because of the kde crash.
the line in my source.list is this one.
deb http://download.tuxfamily.org/glxdock/repository/debian squeeze cairo-dock

For the second question, i can not try anymore ...
The story was :
1 I install the first time cairo-dock without any problem and it's work (with OpenGL) until i try to install download a new theme.
2 So i remove/purge cairo-dock and all the dependency (127 packages).
3 I try to install again and each time I gwill pot the KDE issue. So I have to purge cairo-dock again.

I have a radeon card Mobility Radeon HD 4500 Series.

You wrote, Debian don't use your package. How can I use it ? I have to change my sources.list ?

Ok, this is because you're using an old version of the dock (there is a bug in Gtkglxext and fabounet has added a workaround in the 2.2 or 2.3 version).
About our repository: you've to replace squeeze by stable.
