ok so about 1 year after we talked about it ( ), you can now support your favorite open-source project on Flattr
Thanks in advance to all donators
http://flattr.com/thing/370779/Support-Cairo-Docks-development

@Matttbe: the main pages like the forum, welcome, wiki and doc first pages.
the ones that you certainely pass once, but then you don't see it again.
this way it won't be too much invasive I think.
the big button is a bit big, but it actually has 2 links, a counter and a comprehensive tooltip (the compact one is a bit obscure).
isn't there a "medium" one ?

Well i will of course support cairo-dock product.

But i have a few questions before making donations?

Should we not be a registered "association" with a president and a secretary?
I am not a tax expert but you could have a little problem from the taxman.

Could we have an idea what the money will be used for?
It is quite important to know what ideas the developper want to fullfill? Buy a new product, having cairo-dock party

I think you will have more support if you ask for money to buy something, like a powerfull computer, or tablet.

well I could buy a tablet to make the dock more compliant on touchscreens

and I won't forget our hosting site (tuxfamily.org)

didn't think about an association, it's not like I'll become rich with that

What I don't understand with Flattr is how me as a consumer I am supposed to register. I read the site and it mentions about getting paid for what I do and
rewarding other.

Well I do nothing! can I still register?

Also not so sure about it but I read some time ago that the one making the most money were actually the flattr people. I have no issue with them making money but I
seem to remember that the ratio of their taking was very disproportionate compare to what you would get.

Note: if it get really successful you can always use the money to sponsor me to the next Cairo-Dock party

sure you can

I read some time ago that the one making the most money were actually the flattr people

that's true if everybody rewards someone else with the money he/she earned (because 10% is lost en route each time).
but I'm not planning to re-inject the money into flattr

another important thing is to not let money inactive on your account (you have to flattr someone once a month until there is nothing on your account), because it will be vanish (http://flattr.com/support/charity)

so this system is good if you want to reward several authors regularily.

yes I read that too.but it's not true. Someone said that Flattr takes 10% of each transactions but it's not true, they take 10% of all money added on Flattr.

so this system is good if you want to reward several authors regularily
yes, this is true... and this is maybe the reason that it can be interesting to add a Paypal button

Paypal button added
When I click on the paypal button on the home page, I don't have the same page than when I click on the Donate button on the dock => link ('Support Cairo-Dock' vs 'Cairo-Dock')
Also, if you want, you can use your glx-dock email address but it's a detail.

Where can I put a link to these services? We can also add a link to this wiki page: How to help us.

wow fast, didn't even had time to say it

I think you can change the title directly in the html code (I first set Cairo-Dock and then change the link by adding "Support%20", and didn't backport the modif in the html code in comments)

I have this account for quite a long time, so it's linked to my gmail account (I guess it can be changed).

Where can I put a link to these services?

what about the main forum page, and the main wiki page ?
