How can you redirect an article in this wiki? I have tried putting this in the header of the article, but is doesn't work:

#REDIRECT [[Some Other Article]]

The article just displays the text REDIRECT as a numbered list item with a link. I want to contribute, so this is important to get working :).

No sorry, this feature is not available...
But you can do something like that.

BTW, thank you for your help, it's great! But I have some requests
  • All files names "should" be in an italic font (or inside:

)
  • When there are several ways to fix something, start with the way with a GUI! (not the terminal or a file! I love the terminal but not the newbies)
  • If there are different ways for each WM, DE, distribution, etc. start with the common WM (Compiz, Metacity, Kwin, XFWM, Mutter (Gnome-Shell), OpenBox, etc.), DE (Gnome, XFCE, KDE, LXDE, etc.), distribution (Ubuntu (+Mint), Debian, Fedora, ArchLinux, etc.)
  • Don't hesitate to use big spaces (1 empty line, a line with a space, 1 empty line => (...)\n\n \n\n(...))
  • If you want to include something inside code tags, you can add it juste after the text => (...)

(...) :
E.g. :
You can do that:
(...)
Don't forget (...)

And now (...)

You can do that:

It's just because most people that read this wiki are "simple" users. So this is an example:
There are several ways to launch Cairo-Dock. A launcher is created in System Tools. For example with Gnome (yes, most users use that) :
  • Go to Applications / System Tools / Cairo-Dock or GlxDock (Cairo-Dock with OpenGL)
  • Or Press Alt + F2 and type cairo-dock in the box that opened then validate. (Maybe they don't have the menu...)
  • You can also do it from a terminal: (It's just to say that we can do that...)
    cairo-dock &

Ok, does that mean I create a wiki-page instead of a redirect page and add links to the page to redirect to?

I have tried to include common DE's and WM's that I know how to use (of course i don't know them all), in the run at startup section.
Regarding the section on running cario-dock: I choose to to it like that because it becomes more clear that you are able to force a backend when running it. Also I think it's no point in having a separate section for each distro, DE and WM out there - repeating what is already said before. I understand this forum is not concerned with DE's and WM's but about Cairo-dock. The DE's and WM's have lots of wikis explaining how to use them already - and over time it will become hard to keep this wiki up-to-date with rapid changes. I'm aware that most people here are newbies, but even they should be able to download cairo and run it from a menu, without a guide.

About the code blocks - I didn't understand what you meant, but anyway..

Cheers

yes

The new version of the section on running cario-dock is better for me
