Hello there,

I am working on two applets currently. One is a Postman Applet which will read mail inbox (it will be similar to the existing mail applet, but with other features as well, like reading inboxes of other services like Facebook or Twitter) and a Gossip Applet which will read microblogging and other feeds / streamlines.

Now with regard to the Postman applet: i want users to have the possibility of reading several inboxes on the same applet, although multiple instances will be allowed too, if users want to keep one icon per inbox.
If the user has several inboxes per applet, the applet icon will display the total amount of mail in all inboxes together. But user may want to see mail count per account, rather than total, especially if using web-mail (because then mail is spread across several websites rather than collected in a mail client -- in the latter case you'd better use the messages applet).
Now i thought it'd be a good idea to have access to specific inboxes and i have two ideas to go about that:
1. scroll on the icon to switch from global to specific account, icon changes accordingly, click on icon to open specific page/ program.
2. open a dialog box with a list of all accounts each with icon and mail count, click on a row to open specific page / program.

What idea do you think is better?
How can i realise idea 2? Is it possible to put icon and button in dialog in list format?

Thanks.
Benjamin

what about using a sub-dock ?
or you could use a menu too.

I'm not a fan of subdocks, but using the menu may be a good idea indeed

Too bad
Next time, don't hesitate to commit and push as much as you want on your own bzr branch

See that as a opportunity to rethink your code

I only tease you because it has happened to me a few times so I know how you feel

Your system and your home directory are on the same partition?

Yes they are, i should separate them but i need to find how to. I didn't look into it.
I should also rethink my backup methods.

You mean you get one backup method no ?

Partitioning your disk is imperative! At least when you screw up you don't need to scratch.

Makes it easier to discover distro as well.
