Salut,
hey guys.. i was wondering if it is possible to have the icons have the ability of different dimensions?
what I mean is .,,, right now ..all icons on the dock are limited to a square... I was wondering if possible to have rectangle instead, or any variation of rectangle??
Maybe the ability to change the shape?
Right now we only have this shape;
Is it possible to get more of a rectangle;

I guess that you only want to have a rectangle background/shape because all icons are squares.
I think it can be nice to have sthg like dockbarX or win7 launcher if it's not so hard to implement it

Salut matttbe,
yes I agree,, the windows 7 launch bar has rectangular icons...
Not that the square should go away but options for rectangles both horizontal and vertical...although I prefer the horizontal.
Would be nice to create themes with rectangular launchers 
Right now ,,even if I create a rectangle the dock will render it square

did you try to see in the advanced config window, 'Icons' ? also applets can be resized individually |

hey fabounet,
MM I have tried that but get strange results... if I create an icon that is wider than it is high...and set the config under "icons" to the same dimensions.. the icons get lifted up above the dock instead of laying flat...
I will play with this to see how to overcome this

salut fabounet,
i see what the issue is... there is no way to resize the icon background when an image is set for the background of "all" icons on the dock..
is it possible to get a setting for that image as well?
Even if I create a background image for the icons at 64x48, it will not render as that on the dock..

oh I see
and apart from the background image for all icons, do the icons look good with a non-square size? |
