Hi
I have just installed GLX-Dock and am trying to configure it for first time use, so would appreciate some help.

I am running Ubuntu Lucid with version 2.1.3-10 of GLX-Dock and have a dual screen configuration. My Right hand screen is used as my main screen and currently has the Ubuntu menu and Launch Panels, etc, on it. My left hand screen is occasionally used when I need lots of windows / programs open at the same time.

When I installed GLX-Dock it has, by default, placed the main dock at the bottom of the screen (which is good) but has centralised it across my two screens (which is not so good). Is there any way to move the location of the dock so that it is positioned at the bottom of the screen (as current) but only on the Right Hand screen and not centralised? I would have thought this would be possible but do not know enough about the program to do this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

in the Position options, enable the use of Xinerama, and then chose the screen where you want to place the dock (0 or 1)
PS: the current stable release is 2.2.0

You are a genius! - many thanks for the advice.

P.S. the version I have installed was via the Ubuntu Software Centre, so I'm assuming that the latest stable release will be included when Ubuntu 10.10 is released in a couple of weeks.

you're 100% right, maverick actually has 2.2.0~2-0ubuntu1

but you can also add the weekly repository, which is very stable too. Many bugs are fixed regularly, and few are add, but it's constantly improving too.
Actually, you will have the same version as in maverick (with even more bugfix), and this repository will be automatically disabled at maverick upgrade

I even use bzr which is almost as stable : when it compile (and it rarely breaks), it works

partially true
the latest stable release is on our repository
http://www.glx-dock.org/ww_page.php?p=From%20the%20repository&lang=en

the latest alpha/beta on the weekly
in Ubuntu, you just have the stable version at the moment of the Ubuntu release (not updated until the next Ubuntu version)
