- The version of Cairo-Dock: 2.1.3-10-lucid
- GNU/Linux distribution: Ubuntu 10.04
- Using OpenGL.
- Window manager: Compiz-fusion
- Desktop Environment Gnome
- How to reproduce the bug:
Add Cairo to the "Startup Programs" list (doesn't matter if you just use "cairo-dock -o" or the "15 second" wait trick).
Add a custom (or drag-dropped) launcher for nautilus
Log out and log back in
The launcher will not launch Nautilus
Quit CD
Start CD from the Applications > Accessories menu
The launcher WILL launch Cairo
An "environment recorder" launcher used to log the environment, shows the exact same environment for a launched process for both ways of starting CD...
EXCEPT that when started via autostart the environment has a DESKTOP_AUTOSTART_ID variable!!
Soooooooo
Using the command
unset DESKTOP_AUTOSTART_ID && nautilus
in the launcher, makes Nautilus start
Hope that helps people |

Hello,
I don't have this bug on Ubuntu Maverick. There were a similar bug (we had to click twice to open a directory with Nautilus) but it was due to GVFS and I think it's now fixed with the latest version of GVFS.
But thank you for this tip |

I do have this bug with Shortcuts;
the very first time you click on a disk, nautilus doesn't start.
I think I don't have it for a regular nautilus launcher though |
