Even if it does how will it be propagated to users when that release becomes official? I think you should have the bug with a previous version too
Can you try to launch these commands from a terminal: date +%M:%S
curl "http://xml.weather.com/weather/local/HUXX0002?cc=*&unit=m" -o "/tmp/cd_test_curl"
date +%M:%S
curl "http://xml.weather.com/weather/local/HUXX0002?cc=*&unit=m" -o "/tmp/cd_test_curl" -4
date +%M:%S
curl "http://xml.weather.com/weather/local/HUXX0002?cc=*&unit=m" -o "/tmp/cd_test_curl" -6
date +%M:%S And post the output here? |

ppmt : I don't listen to matttbe
I will try and report but seeing that it didn't work for you I am not holding my breath.

Setting the themeserver's timeout to 10 secs fixed the problem for me |

Does it means my system can't resolve ipv6 I need to read about that more. It is one of my aim to convert my dhcp to ipv6 and have a gateway to ipv4
I did try to set the timeout to 10 but that was without the ipv4 option...I will try all that again
edit1 :changing the beta4 to betat3 did change it...I can now see the ipv4 option....but still can't change the city...
edit2: increasing the value of the timeout to 10 with the ipv4 forced is the same...the dock locks for a few minute |

So why doesn't it work?
You can change city you? how do you do it?
I enter "Montreal, Canada" in the location and that freezes the node for a couple of minutes |

If the applet can't download the xml for the forecast it won't let you choose city, because the mechanism is the same: the applet downloads the list of cities based on your input and then let you choose the proper location code (ex. HUXX0002 which is the HUngarian meteorological data provider located in Budapest). |
