In the new version from the weekly ppa I have a white square around the selected application in the taskbar.

Hello,
Thanks to have reported this bug but can you post a screenshot (with dnd2share or directly on uppix.net, imageshark.us, etc.) and give us the link?

BTW, check in 'Indicator' module (Advanced mode of the config panel) if all is what you want.

Guest, Saturday 10 April 2010 à 16:20

The screenshot is here
http://uppix.net/3/3/f/38744eb6ae73096a3ee6018918587.png

I checked in the Indicators config. Everything is fine, in the sense that I don't want to use an indicator.
If I select to draw the indicator above the icon, there is just the white square, without the icon.
I think there is a transparency problem somewhere, that the indicator is not transparent.

probably the image used for the indicator doesn't exist
you can choose to draw an image or a frame.
just check in the config

Guest, Saturday 10 April 2010 à 17:05

There isn't any image selected. When I put the opacity different from 0, it shows the semi-transparent blue square.
I think that when opacity is 1, it's completely transparent. When I put it to 0, you get the result from above.
Is it possible that you decrement accidentally and end up with -1? Would a -1 opacity cause that?

Do you have this bug only with the latest version? Or also before?
What's your distribution and its version?
And do you have this bug with and without OpenGL backend? What's your graphic card and its drivers?
glxinfo |grep OpenGL

This bug only occurs in the latest version from the weekly ppa.
I'm running Ubuntu Karmic.
I only tested in OpenGL mode on my nvidia quadro with the latest drivers.

There isn't any image selected

so you are using the option "frame" right (not the "image") ? then you can select the color of the frame (and its opacity at the same time), also setting a 0-witdh will fill the frame.

Guest, Sunday 11 April 2010 à 03:52

Yes, I'm using frame and width is 0. If a color with opacity 0 is selected, you get the image you saw.
If I set opacity to 1, there is no frame, which is what I want.
Before it worked with opacity 0 too.

logically with a 0 opacity you shouldn't see anything.
do you have this problem with another theme too ?

@ fabounet: can it be a bug due to its drivers?
@ guest: do you have this bug if you launch CD with
cairo-dock -c

Guest, Sunday 11 April 2010 à 16:23

No, it's not due to its drivers, it's due to its new version of CD.
Again, I did tot change neither my graphics card nor my drivers. I just updated CD.

It doesn't occur on a different theme though.

Guest, Sunday 11 April 2010 à 16:26

Ow, and now some of my icons didn't revert to the way they were before switching themes. Just great.

Guest, Sunday 11 April 2010 à 16:33

My dock is entirely messed up now. Please tell me how to make it the way it was before.

hmm, what's wrong exactly ?
you can load another theme if you screwed your theme completely

Guest, Monday 12 April 2010 à 15:43

I had a theme I really liked, customized.
When I saved it and loaded it back later, it didn't look the same.
Some icons were different and I think also some dock parameters, such as size, reflection power, etc.

hmm, did you tick the 2 boxes to load all parameters ?
if so, when did you save your theme (with which version of the dock) ?

Guest, Monday 12 April 2010 à 17:20

Ups, you were right about this one. I forgot to tick the 2 boxes. Thanks.

So this leaves the white square. So far it's only on this theme, but only since the new version in the weekly PPA.
If I put opacity a little more than 0, it's completely transparent.

Guest, Tuesday 13 April 2010 à 13:08

Have you abandoned this bug?

since I can't reproduce it, and if you don't have it with another theme, then I would appreciate if you send me your theme
