So I'm trying to install cairo-dock on Ubuntu Hardy. I followed the instructions on the wiki (mostly...), but keep getting the error messages mentioned in the subject line.

When I say, "mostly", I didn't
sudo apt-get update
from the command line, because there's a kernel upgrade that'll break my install. Instead, I went through the Update Manager and left out that particular update. Then,
sudo apt-get install cairo-dock cairo-dock-plug-ins
or "cairo-dock-plugins" doesn't work.

Any help will be much obliged.

I know that's a lot of info, but I wanted to show all I tried before coming back here.

Thanks again.

One dependency failed: libwebkit-dev. It seems to all be working, with the exception of the Quitter applet. I can't seem to get it to do anything.

My issue in the first place was just a silly one: I forgot to refresh the package lists before I tried installing cairo-dock.

Hey, I have another question, though: How to I keep Gnome Panel from loading at startup, now that I'm using cairo-dock?
