Clock and Powermanager applets not visible in dock

Running cairo-dock with opengl, the clock and powermanager applets do net get rendered inside the dock, while the labels are there. They render correctly when detached. This seems to be independent from the applet's theme, and is not happening with -c, so it seems to be a problem with opengl. My system has an intel-card (xf86-video-intel 2.9.0.).

Is this a known bug, or a problem with intel drivers?

Hello,

This is a problem with Intel Drivers : https://bugs.launchpad.net/cairo-dock-core/+bug/428900
Don't hesitate to confirm this bug and add a comment in order to update this bug
Thanks

PS: This bug is due to the lack of pbuffers support.

Thanks. Forgot to login above...

This seems not to be the same bug, my problem is that clock & powermanager are not visible inside the dock:
http://img503.imageshack.us/img503/1223/screenshotmz.png

Deattached they work, but their is another instance running in the dock where it looks like just empty space.
Should I open a bug on https://bugs.launchpad.net/cairo-dock-plug-ins then?

EDIT: Oh, now I see someone reported the same problem in the comments. Maybe we should open another one under plugins, since this seems different from the original bug to me.

Hello Gunthers,

This is only a bug with pbuffer which isn't supported by your drivers.

Maybe we should open another one under plugins, since this seems different from the original bug to me.
I think that the best thing to do is to report a new bug on https://bugs.freedesktop.org/ .
If you can do it and install latest Intel Drivers it can really be interesting !
If you will do it, don't forget to precise that you have a bug with Cairo-Dock only with OpenGL and Intel cards and we suppose that it's due to the lack of pbuffers support. Other people have this problem: https://bugs.launchpad.net/cairo-dock-core/+bug/428900
Tarballs with the source code are available : https://launchpad.net/cairo-dock-core and https://launchpad.net/cairo-dock-plug-ins.
For more informations there is a wiki (http://www.glx-dock.org/ww_page.php), our forum or launchpad.
Thanks

Hi mattbe,

opening a bug upstream is a bit difficult for me, since I have no idea about pbuffer and the like, so I can not explain why this should be a bug in opengl/video-intel.

However, the solution seems to be simply running cairo with the -i switch, at least it works for me now. I posted this on the bug mentioned, maybe indirect rendering fixes the problem for others too.

The only thing not working is the "charging"-lightning-emblem on the icon.

Ok. On the other hand we can't post a bug there because none of us has (for the moment) a Intel Graphic Card. Except on computer of girlfriends, etc.

It's "normal"

Another thing that doesn't work is the motion blur -> You can activate it but there is no visible change

nochka85, you reported the same problem on the bugtracker. Does indirect rendering help anything for you? If it does for more people with intel cards, it could be added to the wiki.

mattbe, is it normal as in "the opengl version never indicates charging state as emblem"? I got an indicator with -c.

wait a minute, I think this one is a bug
if the gauge is visible, the emblem should be too.
I think the drawing of the emblem doesn't refresh the texture, I'll patch it tonight to see if it changes something.

Maybe I should add this is with the "Battery" gauge (in the screenshot above), which was not directly available since 2.1.1 for me. I found the files in /usr/share/cairo-dock/gauges (leftovers from an older install?) and put them under ~/.config/...

Anyway, I'm happy to try out any patch you come up with.

I didn't try before .... But here are 2 screenshots :
      1. Without the '-i- option :

      1. WITH the '-i-' option :

As you can see, the indirect rendering makes the jauge rendering fine for powermanager ... But Clock is partialy rendered
But it's better than without the '-i' option anyway !

Fabounet,
just to let you know: todays revision shows the emblem when on ac for me, but the icon is gone. When on battery, the gauge is visible.
Cheers
