you can change the path in its config.
you can also launch it several times.

I know that i can change path-to /home/ or to /documents/, but i wonder if i can put in there (in same quick browser) some folders from /home/, some from /documents/-from different subfolders?

Currently it is not possible.

Thanks for answer! Would be though nice to put just in one launcher/add on all needed files and folders-do you plan to implement something like that in quick-browser?

Regards!

Hello!
I think you should use the stack applet for what you need

well, i use stack, but quick browser has one advantage-it lists all subfolders and files-so i can chose document from dock-don´t have to open folder.

what about having several instances of quick-browser, each one with a different folder ?
maybe you can try this trick :
create a folder in your home, and inside create links to the sub-folders you want to access, then make quick-browser point on the main folder.
can you navigate through the sub-folders then ?

Tried that but shortcut (launcher) to sdhc won´t work. Maybe is problem with my SDHC Card, because in Nautilus i can not create any shortcut on my sdhc card. So i created on desktop one launcher to point me to SDHC Folders. And i want to have in same subdock/add on folders and not often needed apps (to free dock space), and this was only possible with one subdock-quick browser and shortcuts have some issues.

Thanks

You can easily create a symbolic link :
  • right click on a folder / Create a link (or something like that))
  • Or with the terminal :
    ln -s YOUR_DIRECTORY THE_NEW_LINK
(@ Fabounet : maybe you can add in the applet description that it works )

yep.
or maybe the applet could do it, but I'm afraid it will be a little complicated.

I tried in sudo-nautilus, and i tried few sdhc cards-but nothing. So i had to make desktop launcher that lead to one main folder on my card.

Try that (on user mode in a terminal) :
ln -s /media/DATA ~/SDHC
(change 'SDHC' by what you want )

You can add a script with this line at startup but it's very strange !

Guest, Tuesday 18 August 2009 à 21:10 | Quote

Well, i added one quick browser to subdock pointed to sdhc card-for now it seems to be working normal.

Thanks for Help!

Guest, Tuesday 18 August 2009 à 22:08 | Quote

Unfortunately, after restart my quick browser is showing /home/ folder instead /media/DATA/. If i right click on it to see settings it says /media/DATA/, and whe i close that setting window everything is ok. How strange is that?

Is your card automaticaly mounted at startup ?

  • If no (if you have to click somewhere to mount this device):
    • create this repertory when your card isn't mounted => Do this command in a terminal in root mode (with sudo before if you are on Ubuntu) :
      mkdir /media/DATA/
    • Or modify your fstab to mount your device during the loading of the kernel.

  • If yes, try to launch cairo-dock with a delay at startup :
    sh -c "sleep 15 && cairo-dock -o" # or with '-c'

fabounet :

you can also launch it several times.

How exactly do I do that?
I would also like several instances of the Quick Browser each pointing to a different folder, but I can't seem to figure out how to make the second instance.

Thank you,

GG
