Hey folks,
I really like the dock and I'm curious about the upcomming plug-ins!
But I have a problem with the dock's behaviour.
I just want it to disappear till I move the mouse near the bottom of the screen... I really tried all combinations of settings (It should work with autohide, shouldn't it?) and even tried to take the behaviour options of the original themes, but it just won't work.
Either the dock is there until I let it disappear with the shortcut, or it's not there and doesn't show up even with the mouse at the bottom-line...
any suggestions? I'm using jaunty jackalope and I got an ATI Radeon X1300 with a driver that does not work totally well (my screen is flackering a bit on the right side from time to time -but i would not think it's related to my problem...)
feel free to answer in french or german.
Thanks!

Hi Fabian,
Do you use the last release of Cairo-Dock (2.0.0) ? With OpenGL or not ? |

Strange ! It works well with my dock... just with autohide option in Accessibility. Test with the two options above diseable ("Keep the dock below..." and "Show onlt..." => I don't know if it's exactly write that...)
Do you use KDE ? |

No, I use Gnome.
I think I already tried every combination of the options you mentioned... I'm afraid it doesn't change the behaviour of the dock.
It's really strange! It actually worked, directly after the installations. I even tried a re-installation through Synaptic... but the dock just won't disappear.. |

there are actually some more things that don't work as they should. minor aspects, so i don't remember them all but one I noticed again right now: the rhythmbox-icon won't merge with the plug-in (that shows the covers..) no idea if it's related...
I'll post the other malfunctions when they cross my way
thanks for your efforts! |

about the auto-hide, check that you don't have another option that would be in opposite with this one.
like "keep the dock below" or "reserve space for the dock" |

Have the same problem.
I'm using the Fedora 9,10,11 with Gnome+Compiz. I've never!!! achieved the Autohide function to work. When activated, it always disappear, and can be revoke only by shortcut combination. I've tried all combinations of mentioned options, sleeping hack before cairo-dock start, but nothing works. Without this option work, it's usless for me...
Btw, why programe itself doesn't check for collision of options and minimaly write the comment in terminal? |

can be revoke only by shortcut combination
of course , since you set a shortcut combination.
remove it if you don't want to use it.
the program does check such collision in the 2.0.5 |

Are you by any chance using the Compiz Desktop Wall?
Under Edge Flipping disable Edge Flip DnD. |

Neither disabling Edge Flip DnD, nor Compiz Desktop Wall function works.
It seems that removing the shortcut combination is the solution. Trivial but functional.
So I impatiently wait for new version.
