Hi there,

I have a simple question:
is it possible to back-up the themes I saved? Not the default ones,
the ones I created (based on the default one) changing all the icons
and behavior.
What would I have to do if I needed (like probably I will) to do
a fresh install?

I checked in the cairo-dock/themes folder but my themes are not there.
Are they saved somewhere? Can I just take them and replace them in the same
place one cairo-dock is on again?

Thanks for your time,
mitch

hi,

when you save your theme it will be stored in ~/.config/cairo-dock/themes

what do you mean by fresh install?

you mean reinstall Linux or Cairo-dock?

for Linux and assuming that your /home partition is not on the same one as the system you will be ok.

for Cairo-dock it is the same. As long as you don't delete the directory mentioned above it will be still there after you reinstalled.

if you are worried you can alway copy it somewhere safe in between and put it back after if needed.

ok..I was looking in the wrong folder. Found them now!

you mean reinstall Linux or Cairo-dock?

I don't really understand what you are stating here. Does that mean that if I backup the them folder, reinstall the system...cairo and put back the folder where it was ~/.config/cairo-dock/ my saved them will be there?

if you are worried you can alway copy it somewhere safe in between and put it back after if needed.

that is probably what you are saying here...right? copy the folder, keep it safe and put it back "where mama made it"

thanks,
mitch
