Any chance you could add #cairo-dock on irc.freenode.net to the irc channel list?

I'm sitting on the sorcery.net channels right now and only one other person is there (logged in through webchat I think).

The freenode channel sees a small but decent amount of traffic. I think it'd be worth adding to the site...

I wasn't sure about that. But its up to you guys. I started the channel for you and the cairo-dock community... I'd be happy to hand ownership over.

However, I really think that maintaining a presence on freenode would be to the benefit of the cairo-dock devs. There are all sorts of development groups there...

wasn't it Paradoxx who implemented the pages?

May be him or Mav could do it?

it should only be a matter or updating the page

I would actually suggest to delete the english link on sorcery to only keep the one from freenode

Yes, updating that page shouldn't be difficult, it's only replacing some "sorcery" stuff by "freenode" and remove the french link.
In fact, that intermediate page could be skipped to directly show the irc forum on freenode... But unfortunately I have no idea of how to change that myself.

I created the channels but due to the uselessness of it I didn't reinstalled the bot when I've reinstalled my server.

uselessness is may be a strong word.

Let's just say that some people really like IRC (like sememmon and coz) others prefer the forum (I am more like that and are most of the people on this forum it
seems)

I tried to go on irc from time to time but I find it can be a "time waster". By that I mean that I tend to spend too much time on it forgetting about the real world

I think we should keep the french one and switch to the freenode for the english channel.

uselessness of just my channels! where there were almost never a single alive person
but an idea is to create a french channel on freenode.

Yes, I agree with you, the two channels should be on the same server, it's more simple for everyone. Let's say cairo-dock@freenode (which already exists, in fact), and cairo-dock-fr@freenode ?
Should we send something to the sorcery server to "unregister" the two channels ?

When I launch xchat they are still up !

we could ask to open somne channel on freenode but that would imply someone takes ownership of it, no?

It would be too bad to open one and then noone uses it

I could create the french freenode chan and idle there. I could also ask the owner of the bot that sits in #cairo-dock to add #cairo-dock-fr to its channel list, if you'd like.

Also, if someone from the cairo-dock dev community wants to take ownership of #cairo-dock, just let me know. I've got it right now, but have no issues with transferring it to someone else. Whatever works for you guys.

Okie, #cairo-dock-fr has been created and registered on freenode. Do you want a #cairo-dock-en or can we just use #cairo-dock that exists currently?

I think #cairo-dock is fine, as it is already in english and alive.
