Dear All,
I am Valerio from Switzerland. Please forgive if I write in English. I hope this is the correct place to post this message. In order to use hardware acceleration with cairo-dock I recompiled my version of cairo (1.6.4) using the patch from gandalfn. I also recompiled glitz (using version 0.5.7) and pixman. WIth all I used the --enable-glitz flag. Now, if I start cairo-dock using the -g option everything works fine except the icon labels. The look blurred and transparent. It is difficult to explain. It looks like the character bodies themselves are transparent while the chracter edges are white and blurred. Pop up dialogs are not affected by this and are perfectly readable. This is caused by the -g option. If I start cairo without the option, everything is perfectly fine. Has anyone experienced this problem? I was using cairo-dock with different lib versions on another machine and everything was fine, so it is definitely related to the version of the libs I am using. Does anyone please know of a solution? For your information I used nvidia drivers version 173.14.12. I witnessed this bug on at least two different nvidia cards. |

Hi Valerio,
you're pleased to write in English, as long as we all understand english.
For your problem, you're not the first one to got this kind of issue, I did, cchumi did but we gave up because opengl rendering is in Fab's hand (and head :)) so we have decided to wait. |

I've the same problem as you with Glitz.
it has appeared with the last version of cairo.
Glitz needs to be fixed, but I personnaly can't do such a thing now.
maybe a new patch will arrive soon ? |
