I don't know if this has been suggested before, or if it's already possible and I just don't know how, but it would be nice if you could group all open-application icons in a subdock. This way, you can have a nice small cairo-dock, and go to the sub-dock to see what windows are currently open.
Thanks!

there is better, you can place all your launchers and applets in another (or 2 other) dock(s), leaving only applis in the first dock |

I have most of my applications on another dock, and I don't have many applets, but the applets I do have, I want to be able to see all the time, and I have one or two launchers that I use a *lot* that I don't want to go to sub-menus for. The applications I'm not too fussed about, so I'd like to be able to hide them away. |

so the solution I've proposed to you could do the job, couldn't it ? you can set auto-hide to the appli's dock, and keep the launchers/applets dock always visible. |
