I don't know if this has been suggested before, or if it's already possible and I just don't know how, but it would be nice if you could group all open-application icons in a subdock. This way, you can have a nice small cairo-dock, and go to the sub-dock to see what windows are currently open.

Thanks!

Lusule.

there is better, you can place all your launchers and applets in another (or 2 other) dock(s), leaving only applis in the first dock

I have most of my applications on another dock, and I don't have many applets, but the applets I do have, I want to be able to see all the time, and I have one or two launchers that I use a *lot* that I don't want to go to sub-menus for. The applications I'm not too fussed about, so I'd like to be able to hide them away.

so the solution I've proposed to you could do the job, couldn't it ? you can set auto-hide to the appli's dock, and keep the launchers/applets dock always visible.
