Hello,

I just upgraded to Ubuntu 17.10 and I can't get Cairo-Dock to work properly. I had it working fine in 17.04.

It shows as running in Launcher (I see the icon), but there is no visible dock, no process in top and there is strange behavior when trying to quit. I select "quit" and it doesn't do anything.

Cairo-Dock version 3.4.1
Ubuntu 17.10
OpenGL: not sure. Direct rendering = yes from glxinfo|more
Window manager: Mutter
Desktop environment: Gnome

terminal output:
$ cairo-dock

Hi, your problem is the new xserver display Wayland, in this article says how to use the older one Xorg, point 9 (https://itsfoss.com/things-installing-ubuntu-17-10/) , if you use Xorg instead Cairo-dock will work again.
Hope to help you.

I too had come up with lot of troubles while upgrading to Ubuntu 17.10 every time I boot my computer it is in "Airplane Mode" Trinity Builders Cochin and I cannot disable it from the drop down menu or via settings. Using Ubuntu 17.10 is very hard.
